here are some of my instagram photos of late. above, my friend's cat with flour on his nose after he got to close to our lunch, my obnoxiously awesome sailor jumper, dachshund capri pants, my current bear phone cover, and my lunch yesterday at this wonderful new restaurant called the grounds in alexandria, which i highly recommend!
rollerskates, doll parts and furs from an antique shop, a burlesque dancer, my brother's birthday cake and two pairs of oxfords that i managed to get half price AND buy one get one free!
various bits and pieces from antique shops, my leopard print creepers, my old bunny phone case, and some crystal spheres.
asos cat belt, ginger beer with mint from a previous visit to the grounds restaurant, michael jackson's dangerous on vinyl, irvine welsh's latest book (which i've just finished reading and loved), me in a pile of giant teddy bears, and a signed leonard cohen tour poster that hangs on the wall at my work(!!!)
probably the greatest t-shirt of all time for beard lovers like myself, it's a t-shirt design for the band the beards, my watch the throne bootleg vinyl which is lime green and is the censored version, but it didn't cost me $300 so i think it's great! a surprise bunny cake from my mum, the office puppy at my new work, and the outfit at the bottom left is what i wore on the day i quit my old job!
so as i mentioned, i’ve just started a new job! not only is my world a brighter place now that i’ve managed to escape the soul-destroying hell that is retail, but i left for an opportunity that i have been hoping and working for since i was 14 – a full time job in the music industry. i don’t know where this will take me but i’ve moved away from a situation that was making me really unhappy so no matter what, i know it’s a big step forward for me and it feels like i’m finally getting my career on track. i feel like such an adult!
ps- if you want to be instagram friends i am littlehenrylee over there as well. :)

Lovely photos as always! You have such an aesthetically pleasing life! Haha. So pretty. :) The rabbit phone case is so cute! I've contemplated getting one, but I haven't yet! I may buy a Fifi Lapin one instead.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am super jealous you're out of retail! Congratulations on your new job! I know how hard retail can be - I've been at it since I was 16. Sigh. It really makes you hate people, doesn't it? When I come back from my Europe trip, I need to get into job hunting. My dream jobs would either be in a fashion/beauty/culture magazine similar to Russh or music. I really love music too. I can't imagine how happy you must be working with something that brings pure joy into your life. :)
haha the main reason i got the fluffy bunny case is because it was only a few dollars on ebay! the fifi lapin ones are super cute but obviously a bit more expensive, and i'm cheap!
Deleteaww, you poor thing! i really hope you get out of retail soon and that it's for a job that you really love. :)
I love your photos! ;) They're very "refreshing" and "juicy", if you know what I mean. The colours are so cheerful - it's a great assembly of style and arts. :) I love your style - very unique and full of youth and life. It screams "fun" and "energy". (Also, I'm so jealous of you because you get to live in Sydney! :))
ReplyDeleteAll details in your life are just to sweet and refreshing! <3
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures, I love them and the cat is very cute ;)

Oh, these pics are fantastic! Love all the treasures you've found and photographed. That beard shirt cracks me up--- we're very pro beard around here ;) My husband has one and nearly all the men I paint seem to have one!
ReplyDeleteAnd so happy to hear that you've found a job that you love and that you escaped a situation that was getting you down. Best of luck with everything!

I'd recognise those vintage-esque glass juice jugs anywhere, ah the Grounds of Alexandria! Congratulations for actually enjoying lunch there, the lines to get in are sooo frustrating. :P Gorgeous outfits, as always!!
ReplyDeletetell me about it! it sucks that you can't make reservations there, but it seems like they get people in and out pretty quickly. the last time i was there they said it would be an hour wait but we can back in half an hour and our table was ready.
DeleteLove these pics! Will be checking you out over on instagram too :)
ReplyDeleteYou have the best instagram photos and taste! I am envious of that leonard cohen poster and good luck on your new job prospects! I used to want to be a concert photographer but it didn't pan out for me, regardless, I'm glad I tried. Best wishes x
ReplyDeletethanks lovely! i've thought about getting into concert photography before but i've just never taken the leap, haha. it would be a great way to go to shows for free though! xxx
