Perfect Dresses #2 - Dahlia

this perfect dress comes from UK label Dahlia, one of my absolute favourites ever since i saw carrie  mention them on her blog a good four years ago. as soon as i saw it online i knew i had to have it - it has a faux leather upper with scalloped detailing at the back and a sheer maxi skirt over a mini lining.

you can't really see the boots i'm wearing below but they are burgundy velvet (i'm definitely a matchy-matchy kind of girl, they go with my lipstick and bandana, haha). i have quite a few dahlia pieces in my wardrobe and i'm always checking their online store, my most recent purchase being this amazing cowboy jumper. i have a huge weakness for cowboy and western themed clothing so i've loved so much of what they've put out recently. and they have a sale on at the moment too, so that's a good excuse to treat yo self!

  8. You really are a gorgeous person. You have such a pretty face! I would never dare to wear a dress like that, but you look absolutely stunning in it. And I love the matchy-matchy shoes + bandana + lipcolor, hehe.

    1. aww shush! ^_^ being daring with what you wear is all about believing you can pull something off and then just doing it and not caring even if you don't, haha.

  11. Ahh, how did I miss this post?! I absolutely adore your style! It's such a unique mix of so many different eras. This outfit has so many things I love - leather (well faux, because who can afford real?!), sheer, velvet and red lips! I've never gotten into the sheer overlay/high-low skirt trend, but it definitely is something I need to look into.

  16. The design of this dress is so strikingly unique, bold, modern and beautiful. The buttons on the back positioned at an angle like that are redolent of many a mid-century piece, but the garment as a whole feels so fresh and imaginative. It suits you awesomely and really is a perfect dress.

*PS* Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my beaded cardigan post. I hear you loud and clear - most are too pricey for my modest budget, and coupled with the fact that I'm allergic to wool (so I need to find ones made from orlon, cotton or other wool-free materials), I don't own many beaded ones. I'm always on the hunt for more though, and would be more than happy to keep my eyes peeled for some for you as well, if you'd like. Just drop me a line anytime if I can be of help there (or with anything you're looking for online). ♥
