revlon photoready cream blush in flushed, revlon photoready sculpting blush palette in pink rose,
revlon colourstay gel eyeliner and revlon lip butter in peach parfait
i'd heard a lot about these revlon cream blushes and i really wanted to try one out (boy, do i love a good cream blush). these retail for a ridiculous $26.95 in australia and i couldn't seem to find them much cheaper online but i also couldn't justify spending that much on a blush when i already have SO MANY. especially when you can buy these utterly glorious stila convertible colour blushes even cheaper (i'll have to post about them soon). but, while trying to kill some time before seeing a band after work my friend and i found ourselves browsing the make up counters in myer. the revlon counter was giving away a gift pack if you spent over $40 and after hearing me talk up their lip butters (um, i have 6...) my friend really wanted to try them for herself. she was still under $40 on her own so i decided this was a good enough reason to buy this blush and we could split the gift set.
predictably, when we divvied it up set i ended up with the blush, lip butter and eyeliner - perfect for me! i have a particular eyeliner that i never bother to change up because it's absolutely perfect for me and i can't imagine finding anything better, but i'm happy to at least give this one a shot. i actually already have this colour lip butter but i really love it so i don't mind having a back up, and i quite like the sculpting blush palette too. i haven't yet delved into the world of contouring and bronzers and don't really have much desire to either - i'm super pale and i can see it going wrong so easily, but at least now i have a fairly light colour that i could try out if the mood strikes. but i can say the highlighter has been getting a bit of a workout.
as for the cream blush, it didn't disappoint at all. it looks a bit bright and scary in the pot but if you apply it with a light hand it looks so soft and fresh on the cheeks and i don't have any other colours like it. i really love this blush and now i definitely have my eye on the coral shade as well.
That blush is such a lovely color, I imagine it would look a bit like Kirsten Dunst's blush in Marie Antoinette? I'd love to see how it looks on you, beautiful I imagine with your porcelain skin!
ReplyDeleteAlso I absolutely will be blogging from Moscow and I do hope I can get some good photos of the city! I only wish my photography skills were as refined as yours :3
oh shush! ^_^ you are too sweet.
Deletei might have to do some make up posts that actually involve the make up on my face instead of just in the packaging, haha. i feel like that's more relevant to people who might actually consider buying the things i'm posting!
I shelled out that damn $26.95 last week on the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched and I'm a bit bummed cos it's so light, you can barely see it on my skin (and I'm pretty pale), definitely should have got a darker colour. Oh wells.
ReplyDeleteThe lip butters are just the best though, I always grab a few more when Priceline do their 2 for 1 sales! :)
aww, that sucks! :( even though i'm really pale i instantly gravitate towards the brighter shades even if they're harder to wear so i loved the other two shades and wasn't that fussed on pinched because i didn't think it would give me much colour. i mean, if they were cheaper i'd probably buy it but for $27 i didn't want to take the risk!
DeleteOh wowza. This blush looks so intense but I'm sure it's absolutely stunning and not so intimidating once applied! I definitely need to check these out — Revlon is killin' it this year. PS have you tried the two new Lip Butters? What do you think if so? xxxx
ReplyDeleteunfortunately i haven't seen the new colours around in person yet but i've seen them around on a few blogs and they look beautiful! definitely two shades i want to add to my collection, haha. revlon are definitely killing it right now.
DeleteIt's awesome that you were able to get this lovely blush for free by splitting the gift-with-purchase with your friend (I agree, it's selling price is far too high!). My mom buys more department store make-up than I do, and she often gives my sister and I the gifts like this that she receives when she does (I owe some of my favourite Clinique lipsticks to her for that very reason).

my mum is the same and i'm lucky to get most of the products she doesn't care for. gift with purchase packs are the best! :)
Deletethe cream blush looks pretty, love the colour :D
ReplyDeleteNow I really want to try this cream blush! Blush is one thing I am always changing up, it would be nice to find one I could commit to a bit more!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful day!

You're right, it does look very bright in the pot, but I'm sure it looks so fresh and young on the skin. I have to be a bit careful with the creamier blushes because I have oily skin, but I like them for photos especially. ;-)

i've been eyeing this very colour for a while but haven't taken the plunge yet. I've heard it doesn't have the best staying power, what do you think yourself? xx
ReplyDeletei've found that it actually stays really well! i guess it depends on your skin type but the good thing about cream blushes is you could take it out with you and reapply with your fingers if you absolutely need to whereas powder blushes you'd need a brush to do it so it's far less practical.
DeleteI have a few revlon lipsticks & nail polishes and they are amazing quality.
ReplyDeleteAhh PLEASE do a post on the Stila convertible colours, I have my eye on them but I can't decide which one to get!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried these blushes yet either.. I have picked them up a couple of times and put them back down as they look a tad scary from the pan!
