Weekends on Film

so before i started obsessing over make up and skincare i used to post other things on my blog too, how about that! i thought i'd just do one big catch up post on some of the fun things i've been getting up to on my weekends. it always takes me a while to actually get film developed once i shoot it so these are from 3 different rolls on 3 weekends. the photos above are from a record fair that was held at carriageworks. i think it looks reasonably big from the photos but they really don't do it justice, it was HUGE! so much so that i was too overwhelmed and only managed to pick up 5 records before calling it a day.

the below photos are from a rockabilly event called Throttle Roll. let's be honest, i know -5 things about motorbikes but the event had a great atmosphere and i was surrounded by good people and there were bands playing into the evening so i had a really great day.

and the below are from a great day i spent with one of my best friends. she got married at the start of the year and she and her husband live about 40mins away so i don't see them very often because i'm really busy all the time, but one weekend i went to her house and she'd made muffins and sandwiches and we drank rose tea and i played with her puppy and we went op-shopping and i found an amazing vintage faux fur coat and then we watched the hobbit and it was the best.

  10. I was talking to a friend from work today about records and it really made me want to start my own collection! It's kind of bad in a way though because my addiction to clothes and beauty shopping already makes me broke enough! Haha. I think I may just buy my absolute favourite albums and singles though and he did mention you can get some super cheap on eBay too. I think every music junkie needs some sort of collection and I love the way you store them in those Ikea shelves! They'd make such awesome decorative pieces too. You and your friends are so stylish! You rock the whole 50s look so well. One of my New Year's resolutions was to use my film cameras more, but I haven't done that. It just seems so hard when you own a DSLR and an iPhone. I need to change my ways!

    1. haha story of my life! records and skincare/beauty and clothes are the main things i spend my money on. that used include books as well but i own so many now i feel like i don't need any more until i read heaps of the ones i already have. i love records and i'd definitely encourage you to start collecting, but it does get really expensive and really addictive, haha.

thanks lovely! you're so sweet. and i know what you mean, i only really use film when i know i'm going to be out doing something fun during the day because i hate not using up a whole roll, which means i obviously don't really use it day to day.

  11. Oh my goodness. There is something about grainy film that I just can't get enough of. I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog - record shopping is easily one of my favourite things to do. Now following you.

  21. These film photos are amazing! You're really good at shooting analogue! I've been to a small record fair just this weekend, in Spitalfields London! There were SO many people there that I couldn't search the bins properly. I had hoped to find a record for my godfather, who has an old player.

also: how cute is that Spaniel!!!!
