Collar Tips & Crystals

i'm excited to say that this weekend i'll be in melbourne visiting one of my best friends who moved there at the start of the year. although she has come back to visit several times this will be my first time going there since she moved, so i'm excited to see where she's living and spend time with her in the city that is now her home. my biggest problem is trying to decide what cameras to bring with me! this is the friend who witnessed me lugging three cameras around everywhere we went in europe (which caused the same hangbag to break twice!) right now i'm thinking of leaving my DSLR at home and going all analogue to lighten the load.

the collar tips you can see above were suuuper cheap on ebay so i bought them in both silver & gold. the little heart boat shoes, aptly named loveboat shoes (aka the cutest shoes IN THE WORLD), and which i also own in pink & mint, are from my beloved ASOS, where so much of my money goes. below is my ever growing record collection, my super cute lomography bag which is now sold out on ASOS, orly's nail polish in galaxy girl and some postcards of my favourite writers (and nick cave thrown in for good measure) that i bought months ago and finally put on my wall.

i finally got so fed up with the hideous pile of bandanas and scarves that was taking over my room because i was too lazy to store them properly, so i put my little wicker picnic basket to extremely good use! i also found the cutest shirt on ebay with little cowboys all over it, an awesome diana f+ tote bag, and some beautiful crystals (as well as several more not pictured) and a pretty little baby geode!

  1. Hi there! I'm super jealous of your extensive record collection. Asos is my guilty pleasure, although I've never actually bought anything from there...soon though, soon. :)

    1. if you averaged it out i would definitely buy at least one or two things weekly from asos, haha. it's pretty bad, but it's just the best place i've found to shop, including real life!

  6. I love when you photograph your belongings - I think it's because I have magpie syndrome and just love looking at pretty things. Your record collection is impressive, I've only started collecting records and I keep gravitating towards classical.

Anyways - have an awesome time in Melbourne!!

  10. That looks like a mighty fine record collection! I don't get joy from collecting too much (aside from dresses, films and ceramics) but buying an LP always puts a massive smile on my face. I know you like Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen, but what other types of records do you collect? Mine is a lot smaller than yours (probably 40) but at least I have the Grease soundtrack - ha! I totally sympathize with the multiple cameras in a handbag dilemma! Before my recent trip I had to invest in the sturdiest bag I could find because I also broke a few old bags. I hope you have fun with your friend :)

    1. haha, i defintely have the grease soundtrack too! danny zuko is such a babe!! apart from a lot of nick cave & leonard cohen i also have lots of old rock n roll/country/pop music (elvis, johnny cash, hank williams, the beatles, bob dylan etc) and current indie music like bon iver & the national as well as pop like justin timberlake & michael jackson.

i also have a big weakness for hip hop/r&b so i've got rappers like nas, drake, kanye, jay-z, N.W.A and also a whole bunch of early 2000s hip hop & r&b because it's super fun to sing along to. oh and i also have a bit of punk/hardcore (black flag, gallows, minor threat) thrown in for good measure! my music taste is aaaall over the place, hahaha.

  17. I hope you're having fun in Melbourne with Giselle! I'm so jealous, the tickets have been so cheap lately I have been tempting to flee down there for a weekend myself.

By the way, I love that nailpolish! I remember you saying on my blog that you're not ordinarily much of a nailpolish person but this one is a great choice. Very cool!
