Sleek Make-Up

pout polish in electro peach and pink cadillac, i divine eyeshadow palettes in oh so special and au naturel.

and so my makeup obsession continues. by following blogs and watching youtube channels i've discovered so many great brands that aren't available in australia, one of them being UK brand sleek. their eyeshadow palettes, blushes and pout polish lip glosses all get a lot of hype and i can now say that it's with good reason. i initially ordered two blushes, one pout polish and one eyeshadow palette just to try out the range and i loved everything so much i raced back for more.

now i'm happy to admit that i don't know the first thing about eyeshadow. i just do my liquid eyeliner and mascara with a white inner corner highlight and that's my eyes done - i've always found lips (and now cheeks) to be so much more fun, but i thought i'd give it a try and so i've ended up with these two. i figured buying a couple of palettes would be a good place to start because there's lots of room for experimentation without spending too much money if i find it doesn't stick. i don't have time for it every day, but lately i have liked pairing up a light and dark shade for my lid and outer crease and these eyeshadows in particular are super pigmented and the palettes have a great colour range. i think i'll probably only ever stick to neutral shades because i'm not giving up my liquid liner and bright lipsticks anytime soon and i don't want to look like a clown with far too much makeup on, but i would definitely recommend the two i have, even if you're a bit more experienced with eyeshadow than i am.

as i mentioned in my last make up post, i've found myself obsessed with blush to a completely unreasonable degree (hello there are 6 in this post alone!) sleek have a beautiful range of colours and they're so pigmented and apply so smoothly it's easy to put a bit too much on if you're heavy handed, but just as easy to blend it out into a healthy glow. it's a bit of a challenge to photoshop photos to look nice while still keeping the colours of the products true to life but i've looked at the blushes as i edited and tried my best! and i think i've done a lot better job of it than their website (take a look at their image of my blush palette). i would say they're even a bit more vibrant than in my photos but if you really want to know what a colour looks like i've found googling the product name and looking for a swatch to be really helpful, and i've also swatched all 6 blushes in the last photo too.

and one last thing i think is great - you can buy their products directly from their website and it'll only cost a few dollars for shipping to australia (and probably the rest of the world)! there's nothing worse than finding something online you really like only to have the shipping cost more than the actual product, but postage from sleek is under $5 so if you're thinking about checking out their range i highly recommend it (especially the blushes)!

  1. OH MY GOD. IS THIS REAL?? I am looking at their website now and I nearly fainted when I saw how cheap everything is. I am so used to paying extortionate prices for makeup that this just seems to good to be true! Love, LOVE your beauty posts, I am so happy to have discovered this brand. I feel like a kid in a candy store :P

    1. Oh and one more thing - how long does their shipping take to Australia?? I am going overseas on the 8th of June and would order some this minute if I knew it would arrive before I leave :P

    2. that's exactly how i felt once i got their products and saw how good they are!! i can't speak for their foundation or anything else, but blushes, eyeshadows and lip glosses definitely! i can't believe they're so cheap either considering how good they are!

unfortunately the shipping did take a bit longer than that which is a shame. i'm not sure how long you're away for but maybe either buy a few things once you get back or buy them now and they'll have arrived by the time you're back if you're not away for too long. i think it was more like 2-3 weeks from when i ordered before they arrived to be honest.

  4. I don't know much about make up but what I do know is that Australia, most of the time, don't have the brands they do overseas! Will definitely keep that website in mind when I do need make up :) Thanks for sharing!

  7. Wow, they are super cheap. Makeup here tends to be really expensive, so it's nice to know I can get it online for a better price.

  11. I must confess eye shadow intimidates me a bit - dont really know how to do it...sometimes when going out will make people do it for me ^-^
Can I also ask you a question, I like your layout...I dont like mine, how do you make your pictures bigger? For some reason I cant seem to figure it out D: lol im so tech savvy

    1. yeah eyeshadow is still somewhat intimidating for me, i can't do anything too complicated but i just kind of make it up as i go along.

as for the photos, as long as the width of the post section is wide enough, you just have to edit the html of your post (as opposed to just where you type normally) and edit the size in the image coding. it should say something like img height="XXX" and width="XXX" so you just have to change the numbers to something bigger, but you also have to keep those two number in proportion to each other so the image doesn't get really stretched. but if you can resize images in photoshop or a similar program you should be able to set one dimension and it'll give you the other automatically and that's how i find it out! hope that wasn't too confusing... haha.

  15. For once I'm please to be living in Britain, hehe! We don't hve a Sephora here and I'm sure Alpha-H have jacked up the price in the UK as it's an Oz brand. :p

Sleek is amazing. I love their eye shadow palettes and pout paints. And the Rose Gold blusher is supposed to be the dupe of the infamous Orgasm by NARS!

    1. i've heard that about rose gold as well which is why it was one of the first things i bought from sleek! it's a little darker than orgasm but it's still a really lovely shade and the idea of it is similar as they both have a gold shimmer running though.

  25. This might be a weird question..but how come your idivine eyeshadow palettes don't have that 'waffle-print' like they show on the website or that I see in most youtube videos. I think they look so much nicer like that (flat, without the waffle-print), it even makes the colours look way better and the au naturel palette doesn't even look anything like the one on the website..maybe I am actually just looking at the wrong eyeshadows? I'm not sure.
Anyways I live in NZ and just assumed Sleek didn't ship here so now I am super excited and will definitely make an order asap!!!

    1. no, you're looking at the same eyeshadows, i noticed that mine don't have the print as well. i'm not sure why they did that, maybe they changed it recently and that's why some people have the waffle print and i don't? anyway, definitely place an order, it's great that their shipping is so cheap, more companies should post they way they do!
